Effective 2026-10-09

Short version: we store your email address, the links of videos you summarized, and how many credits you have. We don't sell any of it, and you can export it or delete your account and everything in it from your account page at any time.

What we collect

Cookies
We use cookies only to keep you signed in and to apply usage limits — never for tracking or advertising.
Email address
So you can sign in and so we can tell you about your account. Held by Amazon.
Your library
Which videos you summarized and when.
Credits and plan
Your balance, and a record of each credit spent or refunded.
Hashed IP address
A one-way hash, used only to enforce rate limits and spot abuse. We do not store your IP address itself.
Usage events
Which pages were generated and viewed, so we can see what the product is actually used for.
Billing details, if you subscribe
Stripe reads the cardholder name and billing address off your card in order to charge the right sales tax, and both appear on your invoice. Stripe handles this part. They are never written to our database, and we never see your card number.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data and we don't run third-party advertising.

Who else sees it

Amazon Web Services hosts everything. We use third-party AI models to process transcript text and produce summaries; transcripts come from public videos and carry no information about you. If you subscribe, Stripe is the merchant of record: it takes the payment, works out the tax for wherever you live rather than wherever we are, and issues the invoice in its own name.

Sharing

A share link carries no identifier of who generated it, so sending one to someone reveals nothing about you.

Your rights

You have the right to see what personal information we hold about you, correct it, and have it deleted. Your account page does all three directly — export gives you a JSON file of what we hold about you: your account, your library with the source link for every video in it, and your credit history. Delete removes all of it: your profile, your library, your credit history and your sign-in record, after which links you shared stop resolving. It takes effect at once, and the underlying records are erased from our database within 30 days. Your invoices, and the billing name and address printed on them, are held by Stripe rather than by us; your account page links through to them. If you'd rather ask a person, write to support@fetchbrief.com.
